ExposUM Symposium : Micro- and Nanoplastics: From Exposure to Human Health
The ExposUM Institute is pleased to invite you to the ExposUM Symposium “Micro- and Nanoplastics: From Exposure to Human Health”, an interdisciplinary meeting bringing together researchers and clinicians working on the characterization of exposure, biological effects, modelling, and public health challenges associated with micro- and nanoplastics.

About the symposium
This one-day symposium aims to foster the development of interdisciplinary collaborations by connecting four complementary fields: chemistry, biology, modelling, and public policy.
The scientific programme will cover:
- Sources and atmospheric exposure to micro- and nanoplastics
- Detection and quantification methods
- Biological effects on human health
- Exposure modelling and risk assessment
- Innovative mitigation strategies and social challenges
In addition to invited keynote lectures, the programme includes dedicated discussion sessions during coffee breaks and lunch to encourage networking and future collaborative projects.
Coffee breaks and lunch will be provided.
Call for posters
PhD students and Master’s students are invited to present their work during the poster session.
Themes: sources, exposure, detection, biological effects, modelling, solutions, and societal issues related to micro- and nanoplastics.
- Poster format: A0 portrait (French or English)
- Abstract: Maximum 300 words (title, authors, affiliations)re
- Submission deadline: 15 October 2026
- Notification of acceptance: 20 October 2026
