Understanding the Impact of Our Environment on Health
The exposome refers to the totality of environmental, social, and behavioral exposures to which an individual is subjected throughout their lifetime, from conception to the end of their life.
It takes into account external factors such as pollution, diet, and living conditions, as well as internal factors such as metabolism and genetics, which interact to influence human health.
Exposome research aims to understand how these complex interactions contribute to the development and progression of both infectious and noncommunicable diseases.
