A Look Back at the Networking Workshop: New Projects and Unifying Themes
The Interfaces Research Cluster recently organized a networking workshop, providing a unique platform to discover and share research projects funded through the 2023 and 2024 ExposUM calls for proposals. This event brought together 40 project leaders and doctoral students around a common goal: to explore the concept of the exposome from different perspectives while fostering interdisciplinary exchanges.
An interactive and innovative format
Unlike traditional presentations, this workshop adopted an interactive format designed to foster direct dialogue and collective reflection. A carefully crafted set of questions guided the discussions, allowing participants to express themselves freely and exchange ideas. This approach not only enriched the discussions but also helped identify new avenues for research.
Diverse projects and an international outlook
The projects presented covered a wide range of topics related to the exposome and spanned several geographic regions, including Europe, Africa, South America, and Asia. This geographic diversity was accompanied by a wealth of methodological approaches, with interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary methods that fostered a comprehensive understanding of the challenges posed by the exposome.
Promising collaborations on the horizon
The main goal of this workshop was to help participants get to know one another so they could identify potential partners working on similar or complementary topics. By encouraging networking and the sharing of ideas, this event laid the groundwork for future collaborations that could turn ideas into concrete actions.
A space for collaboration and innovation
This interdisciplinary workshop succeeded in creating a space for convergence where disciplines come together and ideas take shape.
This type of initiative highlights the importance of interdisciplinary dialogue in addressing the complex challenges of our time, paving the way for new solutions and significant scientific advances.
