Workshop: “ "Making the Most of Your Thesis" for doctoral students in Montpellier

Monday,September 28, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. St. Charles 2 Campus – Salle des Actes – Hall des Statues

Are you working on your dissertation? Are you having doubts or facing difficulties?

Doubts about your research, isolation, complicated relationships with your advisors, the feeling that you’re not making progress… These moments are part of everyday life as a doctoral student.

On September 28, we're hosting a small-group morning session so we can discuss this openly and leave with some concrete ideas.

The method: peer-led co-development + expression exercises inspired by theater —no staging, just tools for exploring what we sometimes find hard to put into words.

Monday, September 28 · 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. · Salle des Actes – Hall des Statues, Saint-Charles II, Montpellier

Registration required: https://forms.gle/QRy5i1LcMDoXWHHR9

This training course counts toward 4 hours of training with the UM Doctoral College.

Some testimonials fromprevious sessions

"It was a great way to meet other grad students, as well as to get to know myself better."

— Participant, October 2025 session

“The workshop allowed me to express my challenges in different ways, in a setting where everyone works together to try to resolve them. The workshop also helps PhD students who are facing challenges you may have already encountered. The more PhD students there are, the more solutions are found, so I highly recommend it. The atmosphere is supportive and fun, the instructors are energetic, and it’s also a chance to meet people from other fields.”

“Thank you for this unique opportunity for discussion and the exchange of perspectives among doctoral students from different backgrounds, which serves as a valuable bridge between formal gatherings (DS, doctoral conferences, etc.) and informal ones (coffee breaks, doctoral student groups within research units and laboratories, etc.)”
