Spring School: Healthy Communities
From March 31 to April 4, 2025, Montpellier will host the fifth edition of the Anthropocene Campus, a unique event bringing together researchers, elected officials, technical experts, artists, and organizations. Organized by the ExposUM Institute and the Center for Earth Policy, this interdisciplinary workshop will explore a crucial question:
How can we live healthily in the Anthropocene in the Montpellier area?
In the face of the challenges posed by climate change, urban expansion, and pressure on resources (water, air, soil), the Anthropocene Campus aims to break down disciplinary barriers by bringing together environmental science, political ecology, urban planning, and art.
By combining scientific research with real-world experience, this event aims to rethink public policy in order to build resilient and sustainable communities.
An event not to be missed, offering an opportunity to reflect together on the future of livability in our regions.
Registration is required for the workshops, but the Monday afternoon session is open to everyone.
On Monday, March 31, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., an afternoon dedicated to exploring and discussing topics such as livability, healthy communities, and nature-based solutions will mark the launch of the Spring School.
This event is open to everyone, whether you’re simply curious or already an expert, and will help you deepen your understanding of environmental issues and our relationship with the environments we live in across the Montpellier area.
The buffet will be provided free of charge. In the evening, a theatrical performance will transport you to the near future, where a new public service has been established to manage relations with non-humans. An interactive exhibition will immerse you in the health and environmental challenges facing the Montpellier region, addressing topics such as river health and water quality, the presence of wildlife in the city (wild boars and coypu), as well as greening initiatives and the impact of mosquitoes.
